Initial Meeting (A get-to-know-you meeting where we’ll talk about your ideas, plans, wishes, budget, and the scope of work involved)
Design Phase
Design Services Agreement
Ashley-Lavender builders and the client enter into a design agreement to provide preliminary plans or you may bring your own outside architects and designers that we can work closely with throughout the project.
Pre-Construction Agreement (Using subcontractor walkthroughs to provide you with a more accurate estimate)
Construction Contract – you’re ready to start the project!
Product Selection - You will receive a schedule, list of vendors and a list of contacts to work with for selection of your products. The schedule is based on how much lead-time is required for certain products so that we stay on schedule. Delays and increase in cost will result if selections are not made according to the schedule.
For ease in the selection process, use our:
Designer Services – available during the entire Project Scope based on an hourly rate.
- Sketches & Ideas (architectural details, space layout, finish selection.)
- Product Selection Assistance (cabinetry, trim, flooring, tile, granite, lighting, plumbing fixtures, paint colors, hardware, etc…)
We do not want to promise you something we cannot deliver, therefore, we work with our many chosen subcontractors and suppliers for their expertise in their individual trades and proven shared values in quality work.

Construction Phase:
-Demolition/Rough-in Phase (Tear down the old & build the new)
-BIG 3 Start (HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing – wiring & piping layout)
-Drywall, Trim, Cabinetry Installation
-Materials & Finishes (paint, stain, countertops, tile, appliances, fixtures…)
-BIG 3 Finish (HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing - hook up and install fixtures)
-Final Touches & Move-IN! Some delays are inevitable to construction, however, we will work with you closely by scheduling meetings and walk-throughs to try and minimize any obstacles.
Final Walk-Through (Check off the last few things that need attention with the project director and the client and then sign)

Remodeling Fever:
Your home is a sacred place, it displays your personality and at the same time is the place you privately rest your head at night; remodeling can disrupt your daily life and create many uncomfortable feelings. Remodeling is one of the rare professions where you feel like a group of workers have moved in with your family (if you choose to live at home during the process.) We will try and prepare you for the ride, but rest assured that emotional ups and downs are very common for homeowners. Here are some tips to try and prevent stressful highs and lows:
- View the experience as a new adventure with a sense of humor.
- Celebrate small milestones in the process; such as when the drywall goes up.
- Keep a small area untouched as a safe-haven for you to escape to.
